RELIEF AND AID FOR IRAQ AND JORDAN VIA CHRISTIAN AGENCIES

An international committee called “Iraq Crisis Relief Committee” has been created to assist with the needs of Iraqi Christians within post-war Iraq. This committee includes Jordanian Christian agencies, charities and Manara Ministries together with similar bodies from Iraq and the UK. It is being coordinated internationally by the Barnabas Fund from their UK headquarters. The primary method of assistance will be to provide food for 60,000 families in Christian areas of Iraq, together with medical assistance, and tents and blankets for those internally displaced.

A separate committee known as “The Pool” exists in Jordan to assist third country nationals who have been evacuated from Iraq to Jordan. The Pool incorporates the major churches, evangelical charities and evangelical organisations including Manara Ministries. Its primary work will be to care for incoming third country nationals by providing food.

Donations for Iraqi Christians in Iraq should be sent to Barnabas Fund, The Old Rectory, River Street, Pewsey, Wiltshire SN9 5DB, UK. Cheques payable to “Barnabas Fund”. Gifts for Iraqi refugees in Jordan can also be sent to Barnabas Fund for forwarding to the Pool via Manara Ministries.
