This is from a member of (a pastor friend's U. S.) congregation who is, for the moment, stationed in NC. He came home from Afghanistan in February. "Just please don't forget the boys over there in AFG. They had a serious fire fight at one of the firebases I was at, and a soldier lost his life and many others were seriously injured. People have lost interest over there, but we are under fire more often there then in IRAQ. IRAQ has it easy. The soldiers they fight wear, for the most part, uniforms and are easy to distinguish. The enemy we fought was a farmer one day, a rebel the next, it was their children, the women, the men. There were no uniforms and they waited till our backs were turned to strike. The harsher life is in AFG, still. Only now after the declared victory over IRAQ are the US soldiers experiencing the nightmare of Guerilla warfare. Thanks for keeping all of us in your prayers.
