MYANMAR REPORT June 14, 2003
The following Christians were arrested in MYANMAR this week:
Mr. Run Hesh Ling (Pastor) Mr. Sa Tin Khup and his daughter – Cung Hlen Mr. Thongte Mr. Lowib
Upon arrest they were put into the KALAYMYO prison. At a later time they were charged with “Selling Children” and sentenced to “life in prison” or “death”. The sentence was given to them as an option to choose between the two.
Quoting sources from the area, reports are: “The Military confiscated 22 orphanages for military use. Mr. Sa Tin Khup and Pastor Run apparently tried to deliver these orphanages from their clutches and now for this reason their case is very dangerous.” They also stated, “Brother Khup is faithful to witness for Christ, so please do continue to pray that he may be faithful facing the well-known cruelty used by the military here.”
