Dear Mr Croucher, I read a few things about circumcision on your web pages and feel that many of your readers might be interested to read my articles that have been published on another website. Basically, my message is that the New Testament is against circumcision, or to be more specific, it is against those who push this practice on others. St Paul, who was responsible for circumcising Timothy, turned against the practice, and accused those who push it of being into it because they 'gloried in the flesh' or because they were in it for the money. Even Jesus contrasted his healing with circumcision, saying that while they circumcised on the Sabbath Day, he made a man 'every whit whole', a rather pointed dig that mostly does not come across in modern translations. I have also found a link in the Old Testament between circumcision and sexual violence, and this is documented in the third of my articles listed below. Perhaps the easiest of my articles to begin with is the second one, which is written in an easy question and answer format. My articles are: The New Testament and Circumcision http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/glass1/ Answers from the Bible to Questions about Circumcision http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/glass2/ What the Bible Reveals about Circumcision and Sexual Violence http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/glass3/ Any feedback from you or others would be welcome. Best wishes, Michael Glass
