After reading current issue of Zadok papers s128 Media myths and the middle east….I have come up with this word to describe the overwhelming US Christian practice and world view imported into Aussie conservatism:

“bushianity”

“President bush is known in the Muslim world to be a Christian and they know that it is the pressure brought to bear by the US Christian Coalition that keeps President Bush focussed on the expansion of Israel. His unequivocal support for Israel and Sharon, ‘the man of peace’, has revealed Christianity to be a significant evil in the present world. Just as Jesuit theology became linked to the Spanish inquisition, so will fundamentalist evangelical Christian theology be linked to the genocide of Palestine’s inhabitants. ” p12.

a.. Fear the future but don’t be afraid! b.. Stay true to honest exegesis of the Scriptures! c.. Live in the gospels and live the gospels! d.. Question everything conservative evangelicals tout as gospel including “convertive piety”! e.. Go for small! f.. Go for the journey not the event! g.. Promote the process not the outcome! h.. Party hard! i.. Don’t be nice! j.. Be subversive! k.. Be a revolutionary! l.. Work the networks! m.. Die for friends! n.. Love and listen to your family! o.. Be still! p.. Go shopping on Sunday! q.. Go to church spasmodically! r.. Pray! s.. Tell the truth and try to find it! t.. Show grace to b*****ds! u.. Don’t be one! Happy new year!
