Many of the articles linked above take the "there is good and there is bad" approach and do not come from a single theological or denominational viewpoint. It's roots in the Counterfeit Revival (as you'll find in the articles) and its nearly universal acceptance by the 21st Century church famed for their biblical illiteracy, resultant lack of spiritual discernment and ability to seek the shallow rather than the deep is a giant *red flag* to me personally. Like most other things that have been a product of the Word of Faith movement it appears to be long on flashiness and appeal to the masses but extremely short on solid foundation in the Word of God. When those on the "broad path" begin chanting how "spiritual" something is it behooves those on the "narrow path" to examine it closely. Like nearly everything else produced by the shallow appeal to carnality that many are calling "revival" today (which is an affront to God), it appears that "the emperor is, indeed, once again *naked*"!!

thank you. i always appreciate your search for truth and exposing error. eric
It is easy to find those who will speak against anything that is pentecostal or charasmatic. If you follow the links back to the home pages on the links provided you find the backgrounds of these groups are just that. They come primarily from a reformed perspective. Now, for some they would find comfort there. My point is their perspective is not surprising.
Now, there may be some issues with the Alpha course, I do not know the details. But, when you look at those against it, it is not a leap to see that they are also against anyone who believes the gifts are for today.
So, follow who you wish, but a wise person follows the nay sayer back to his home ground and see if he agrees with the nay sayers basic statement of faith before he declars they proclaim the truth.
On the internet today you can find something for or against just about anything.
