Leadership & Practical Theology

Baptists

Denominational affiliation speaks volumes about a person's beliefs.

I replied:

Does it? Tells me hardly anything...

I've visited Baptist Churches around the world and the only generalization you can make about them is that they claimed to follow

Jesus Christ. Nothing else...

Now you're thinking - what about baptism?

Good question, thanks for asking...

Actually there are Baptist Churches in the Church of North India that practice infant baptism...

And Ken responded:

And if people think that Baptists insist on dunking people, at the last baptismal service in Inala Baptist Church in Brisbane one of the candidates was baptised following one of the alternatives prescribed in the early church manual known as the Didache, or Teaching of the Apostles.

The minister poured water three times on his head.
