aus.religion.christian newsgroup (June 18, 2004)

A note to someone who reckoned atheists wielded too much power in aus.religion.christian

Fact 1: Danny had a hand in the original FAQ and hosted it

2. Andrew Bromage was ‘moderator’ of the group when we were discussing retro-moderation, and he posted the FAQ from time to time. Marriage and family have precluded his involvement in the last couple of years.

3: Chris played a major role in initiating a revision of the FAQ, and *we all* agreed on the final product (with maybe a couple of minor queries on minor points by one or two). It just so happens that the JMM site is handy for hosting it these days, with Danny an irregular poster.

4. To say that atheists are in some sense ‘running’ this group is not true. It just so happens that atheists Sean, Theo and Barry are probably the most consistent posters here over the long haul. And they’re most welcome (though very different people). I hope Chris returns – and wouldn’t it be good to see Nigel again? But with our friend from Germany posting here (remember ‘Christian’ and Grigor-whatshisname, and the guy from NZ whose many nom-de-plumes I’ve forgotten plus a few others? Similarities there… ) We can’t all be gentle types like Ken Smith (but then hopefully we all, like Ken, will mellow with age :-)

Shalom!
