A list-friend wrote: How does that kind of mis-information and seeming racial hatred get embraced by 'conservative' christians? I responded: Any response to this should probably underline 'conservative' rather than 'Christians'... Conservatives - whether political, religious or whatever - prefer the safety of what-is and what-has-been (traditionalists) 'cos there are liberals out there wanting to change/undermine the status quo with their progressive-to-radical ideas. For conservatives thinking is hard work and thus it's easier to develop conspiracies to cope with the fear of alternative scenarios. From left-to-right you've got radicals, progressives, conservatives, and traditionalists. Effective communication leading to change does not occur two removes away from where one is (progressives may listen to radicals, traditionalists may listen to conservatives, etc. but the ideas of those further right or left won't be tolerated...) How's that for a simplistic summary of a Masters' degree in social psychology I did on all this a couple of decades ago? Shalom! Rowland Croucher
