I wrote: Whenever you come across a so-called Christian who can speak about 'without tears in their voice' avoid them like the plague... Another responded: I've never met a Christian in over 20 years of believing Jesus Christ is Lord who speaks about hell with tears in their voice. As a matter of fact, I remember you made a post where you mentioned that most Christians are closet universalists. Your argument, which I agreed with, was that if Christians truly believed what they were taught about hell they would spend every waking minute warning anyone who crossed their path. I have used the example before that if there was a terrorist murdering people in a grocery store and a Christian managed to escape the store, I'm sure the Christian would do everything he could, after calling the police, to try and keep people away from that store. Quite frankly, any decent and humane person would do the same thing. Yet, this kind of urgency is absent from Christians when it comes to their beliefs about hell. There is no compassion in mainstream Christianity for the lost. When was the last time you sat in a church service where a prayer was offered up to the terrorists? I've often heard prayers offered up for peace in Jerusalem, but I've never heard those same prayers for peace in Palestine.
