Hell

From a netfriend:

Revelation 1:18, 20:5,7-9,13-15,

Hell is a place of confinement for those who die without salvation, namely the vast majority of mankind. Punishment there depends on the degree of their sinfulness.

However, hell is NOT a permanent condition. All people in hell are given a second chance after their resurrection, even Satan...

The traditional, sectarian Christians make the Revelation into an incomprehensible book, incapable of being read and understood. They do this because of their traditional, but false, doctrine that punishment in hell has no end. That is a simplistic doctrine which is well-suited to the needs of false leaders who are trying to keep their followers under control.

However, the scripture is quite plain that hell is NOT a permanent condition. From Jesus' story of the rich man in hell, Luke 16:19-31, it is clear that those who do evil will be punished in proportion to their sins. No one ought to minimize that, and think himself immune. However, that is not a sufficient reason for the hideous doctrine that God is unmerciful, and unwilling to put an end to the punishment of those in hell who are willing to repent and change.

Not only the Revelation, but also what is said about the unforgivable sin, confirms this:

Matthew 12:31-32 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

If the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, whatever that is, cannot be forgiven, even in the world to come, that implies that all other sins CAN be forgiven in the world to come.
