Night Classes

(~) Night Classes

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight. – Matthew 10:27 NIV

Suffering from sleeplessness? Ever think that maybe God’s calling you to pray? “But I’ll be tired in the morning,” you reply. Really – try it: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isa 40:31). Did you know that God:

(1) Works the nightshift? While Israel slept, secure under the blood, God sent His angel to break Pharaoh’s iron grip and set them free. God, “neither slumbers not sleeps.”

(2) Holds night classes? In the wee hours, God wrestled Jacob into submission. He changed his priorities, his outlook, and even his name. Jesus took His disciples through a life-changing storm – at night! Why? To introduce them to a dimension of His power they knew nothing about. Listen to them: “What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him” (Mark 4:41) How else can you become a believer?

Why does God sometimes speak so clearly at night? Because we tend to listen better! No distractions. No competing interests. We’re desperate, open, ready for answers. During the day we run ourselves ragged talking to people with just as many questions and just as few answers as we do. At night we’re ready to slow down and listen.

Jesus said, “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight” (Matt 10:27 NIV). God can give you a solution in the night that will solve a problem waiting for you in the morning. So next time you can’t sleep, pray – you mightbe amazed what happens!
