Communion Songs

These are three songs we sang last Sunday with Communion

(From a pastor-friend):

Who is my mother? Who is my brother?

All those who gather round Jesus Christ:

Spirit-blown people born from the gospel

sit at the table, round Jesus Christ.

Differently abled,

differently labled

widen the circle round Jesus Christ

crutches & stigmas, cultures enigmas

all come together round Jesus Christ.

Love will relate us- colour or status

Can't segregate us round Jesus Christ

family failings, human derailings,

all are accepted round Jesus Christ.

Bound by one vision, met for one mission

we claim each other, round Jesus Christ

here is my mother, here is my brother,

kindred in Spirit, round Jesus Christ.

158 Key F Major (Slow prayerful)

We do not hope to ease our minds

by simple answers, shifted blame

while Christ if homeless, hungry, poor

and we are rich who bear his name.

As long as justice is a dream

and human dignity denied,

we stand with Christ, disturb us still

til every need is satisfied.

We cannot ask to live in peace

in comfort and security

while Christ is tried in Pilate's hall

and drags his cross to Calvary.

As long as hatred stifles truth

and freedom is betrayed by fear,

we stand with Christ; give us no peace

til his peace reigns in triumph here.

We will not pray to be preserved

from any depths of agony

while Christ's despairing cry w:ings out

God, why have you abandoned me?

As long as we have hope to share of life renewed beyond the pain

we stand with Christ all through the night

til Easter morning dawns again.

Table of Plenty

Come to the feast of heaven and earth

Come to the table of plenty

God will provide for all that we need

Here at the table of plenty.

O come and sit at my table where

Saints and sinners are served

I wait to welcome the lost and lonely

To share the cup of my love

Come to the peace....

O come and meet without money

Come to drink without price

My peace of gladness will be feed your spirit

With faith and wholeness of life.

Come to the peace...

My bread will ever sustain you

Through days of sorrow and joy

My joy will glow like a sea of gladness

To warm the depth of your soul.

Come to the peace.....
