Computer TIP Add a Caption to a Graphic in Word Putting a caption on a graphic is easy -- providing you insert the graphic image into a table. 1. Start by placing your stick cursor on the spot where you want the table (or graphic image and caption) to be. 2. Click the Insert Table button on your Standard toolbar.- doing so displays a drop- down list thing. 3. Drag the mouse through the thing to tell Word how big a table you want to create. Make the table so that it has only two rows Also, you might want to select "No Border" as the line style -- unless you want a border around the figure and caption. 4. Insert (or paste) the figure into the top cell, then type the caption into the bottom cell. Resize the table (or resize or crop the image) so that everything fits nicely. 5. Select the bottom cell and format it accordingly. Make the text small, bold, centered (or left-justified), and so on - whatever your personal preference for the caption.
