You might like to know that this story is completely untrue. The current source for it seems to be the “Da Vinci Code”, which of course is fiction. The Council of Nicaea did not discuss the canon at all.

You say that “there is plenty of evidence”, but I wonder whether you know of any, other than web pages online which (you will quickly find) offer no ancient evidence for their assertions.
