Many have examined Christianity with a head full of questions, who then read the New Testament. As they came face to face with this remarkable man Jesus, they had to argue for or against his claims to be divine.

A Canadian theologian, Clark Pinnock wrote, 'There is something irresistible about the image of God presented to us in the Christian message, God with a human face. He is the one who has created and sustained us, and wants to be our Father. His plans for us are good, and his promises embrace the whole of our need. He loves us passionately with an everlasting love and has swept away all our sins through the death of his Son. It is difficult though not impossible to reject a God like this. On the other hand, it's amazing how many people have fixed ideas about God (or the lack of a God) or Christianity who have never examined the evidences. The most amazing assertions are made by the Bible about a God who created us, cares about us, wants to make us whole, and they can bypass it all, probably (though not invariably) because they don't want God to change them in any way. As J.B.Phillips put it, 'It is not as though the evidence had been examined and found unconvincing; it had simply never been examined.'

Lord, I'm willing to have my mind changed towards the truth. Amen.
