Dear Pastor Rowland,
Recently I have a pastor friend who due to over-stressed in his ministry ended up molesting a church member. I believe he is not a sex maniac or have premeditated motive. When he confessed his sin, his Sr Pastor and denomination leader make no effort to restore and help him. The denomination disciplines him by removing his credential, but ever since no fellow pastors have ever visited him. I spoke to his wife and tried to visit him, but he seems to avoid me.
We all make mistake and sin, but I am not there to condemn or condone. My friend is a good and resourceful worker, though fallen, is drowning, the church leaders are trying to push his head lower into the water each time he tries to float, according to one concerned church member of his church.
He must be restored for future service, or he is finished.
His pastor and denomination leader placed the members who are policemen and lawyers to barricade their denomination and church’s reputation, but left this fallen brother with no recourse.
The victim has forgiven this friend without incriminating him. But why are the church and denomination so unforgiving, callous, and could not careless like those who brought the adulteress to Jesus?
Our denomination is good for pushing problems under carpets, wash their hands from problems, and discipline without restoration and reconciliation. I felt strongly that I could help, no only this brother, but others, but I don’t know how.
I want to start a ministry like yours to help fallen and hurting pastors, but my proposal to those concerned is treated with lukewarmness.
Please tell me how I could help those fallen and are hurt in ministry.
Thank you very much.
God bless your ministry.
Rev.
I would encourage you to help discouraged pastors whether or not you have another ministry!
God has put this ministry on your heart: go for it!
I’ll be praying for you!
