From a pastor-friend: I have just bought a copy of Jim Cotter and Paul Payton's prayer book called "Out of the Silence... Into the Silence... Prayer's Daily Round" published by Cairns Publications, 2006 (which is basically Jim Cotter's publishing name). I am finding it to be particularly nourishing for daily prayer and group devotions. I wonder if anyone else has it and would like to comment. It comes in a form similar to the traditional Daily Office and is a collection of prayers written and collected by Jim Cotter over many years and short songs written by Paul Payton. It is dedicated to "...the sisters and brothers of the Community of the Transfiguration at Breakwater, Geelong, in the state of Victoria, Australia: with affection and in solidarity." I can't resist quoting an especially good opening prayer for Friday, "Let us be silent... let us be still... empty... in the presence... saying nothing... being silent... being still..." page 26.
