Algerian Christians asking for your prayers and your voice of support
Algeria has seen a sharp rise in official and unofficial discrimination against Christians over the last few months. Since the beginning of this year, some 20 churches have been closed; many of them have been operating officially for many years. There have also been numerous arrests of Christians, often on questionable charges.

*Algerian Christians often meet together in basement rooms like this to worship*
Algerian Christians have asked their brothers and sisters around the world to support them in prayer and to speak up for them by writing to their Algerian ambassador or to the Algerian government.
Will you help Christians in Algeria by writing a letter about their plight? It will be most effective if you write in your own words, but Barnabas Fund has a sample letter to use if you prefer. If you write your own letter, it does not need to be long, but please make it clear and polite.
*The sample letter together with names and addresses to write to, background information, a list of incidents and churches closed can be found at this link <http://www.barnabasfund.org/news/archives/article.php?ID_news_items=403>.*
