Talking with an expert about adults recovering from childhood sexual abuse, who have no or dim memories of the abuse, she mentioned these triggers (you’ll probably get the connection if I haven’t made it clear):
* Lie on your back/stomach only?
* Any special physical behaviors?
* Places you avoid?
* Things/foods you detest (eg. sour milk – given to an uncared-for baby by abusive parents)
* Aversion to bananas – or any kind of food?
* Special routines when you go to bed – covered/uncovered etc.
* Face the door or not when you’re asleep?
* Can’t stand in queues? Panic when in crowded places (eg. a full aeroplane)?
Any others? –
