Been thinking about this today (from a UK preacher’s journal): ‘There was a time in the early 19th century when all the slaves in the southern U.S. could have been redeemed for about 3 million pounds. But greed won and the moment passed. Fifty years later it cost hundreds of millions of pounds and thousands of lives to recover the lost chance.’
What’s a comparable situation today?
