Experienced women's prison chaplain:

'At least 90% and maybe up to 99% of women's prison inmates were seriously abused in childhood - sexually, emotionally, or physically - or all three. They turn to drugs/alcohol to drown their pain, and pay for their habit by robbery and/or prostitution. One question: where are the perpetrators of the abuse?'
