New resources from Internet Evangelism Day. These are listed below as short separate news items so that editors or bloggers can use or adapt one or more, as appropriate. If reproducing items in print, you may remove the ‘www’ from the beginning of URLs and the ‘.php’ suffix from the end, to make them shorter, and also capitalize the words within the URL – InternetEvangelismDay.com – to be more readable.
Several of our highlighted web-pages make ideal features to reprint in full within magazines. This applies particularly to the ‘Desperately Seeking Lodgers’ and ‘Campaign for Prominent URLs’ articles. A summary 800-word article is also available from the Church Site Questionnaire page. We offer other free articles (and MP3s for re-use) including more short stories: http://www.internetevangelismday.com/free-articles.php
Any of our news items in the Digital Evangelism Issues blog, or our newsletter, can also be freely reproduced in newsletters and magazines. (Our blog headlines can also be inserted into your own website with an easy line of Javascript code.)

For editors, we also highly commend the evangelistic articles by writer and evangelist Rusty Wright, an Internet Evangelism Day associate. He offers free ‘seeker/skeptic-friendly’ articles (plus online training resources) to web content managers and editors. They are equally useful for websites, blogs and print – about one million copies of his articles appear in print media each year. Many are available online: http://www.probe.org/Rusty in 14 languages. To get brief email alerts about new articles as they become available (generally monthly), email him at requesting to be added to the mailing list.
Our international speaker panel is growing. If you need a speaker in Australia or New Zealand, or have experience of various aspects of digital ministry and would like to volunteer, visit: http://www.internetevangelismday.com/speaker
Do you have any recommendations for titles to add to the various categories on our book page, including suggestions to add to our listings of free e-books, study courses and online research studies: http://www.internetevangelismday.com/books.php
If we can help in any way, please write. Please also pass this email to anyone else who may be interested. The text of this email is also available online as a formatted Word document: http://www.internetevangelismday.com/latestnews
Blessings to you

CHURCH WEBSITE OPPORTUNITIES ‘Desperately Seeking Lodgers’ is a new short parable from Internet Evangelism Day, highlighting the need for church websites to be people-oriented. ‘”We need more lodgers,” said Maria Silversmith to her husband Milo one evening…’ http://www.internetevangelismday.com/church-evangelism.php
Internet Evangelism Day has initiated CPU – the ‘Campaign for Prominent URLs’, to encourage churches to display their website URL in large readable letters, so that passing motorists can easily see it. http://www.internetevangelismday.com/church-website-publicity.php
The Church Website Design Questionnaire has become a valued tool for many churches. It provides a custom report, based on the answers a church webmaster enters online, suggesting ways to make the church site more attractive and user-friendly to outsiders. http://www.internetevangelismday.com/church-website-design.php
POPULAR CULTURE – A FORGOTTEN GIFT Internet Evangelism Day suggests that Christians do not often use a God-given evangelistic starting point – popular culture. “Suppose God sent you a letter. And in it, He offered you a gift – a simple evangelistic approach similar to the parables that Jesus used. Something that would engage with people’s interests, and employ a common language and experience. Would you want to use it?” http://www.internetevangelismday.com/popular-culture.php
ONLINE TRAINING FOR DIGITAL MINISTRY Internet Evangelism Day lists a range of new resources to help Christians learn more about online ministry: http://www.internetevangelismday.com/training.php
SPEAKERS AVAILABLE FOR CONFERENCES If you need a speaker about any aspect of digital evangelism for a conference, fraternal, staff consultation or Bible College, you can now request a speaker from Internet Evangelism Day’s panel of experts, available in a number of countries around the world. When traveling distance is a problem, most are also available to linkup via a Skype or telephone conference session. http://www.internetevangelismday.com/speaker.php
USING CONTACT CARDS FOR OUTREACH Contact cards are an often-overlooked way to enhance a face-to-face interaction. As well as carrying your personal information, a card can invite people to visit a church website, and/or some recommended outreach sites that explain the Gospel clearly to outsiders. Internet Evangelism Day has a webpage explaining strategies for using contact cards, with a guide about using online design and print services to make your own cards quickly and easily. Pricing for 250 cards can be remarkably cheap – only a few pennies or cents each. http://www.internetevangelismday.com/contact-card.php
ADVANCE NOTICE OF INTERNET EVANGELISM DAY 2010 Internet Evangelism Day, the annual web-ministry focus day for churches, is set for April 25 2010. To mark the day, churches can create a short program, using free downloads from the IE Day site: Powerpoint, video clips, handouts and music, to investigate and showcase the huge potential for outreach using the Web. http://www.internetevangelismday.com
