Rowland Croucher replied: As a Christian counselor (see our homepage for more about me) I can understand
your pain a little, I hope. You have suffered through exposure in your
formative years to a terrible experience of unlove…
I heard a psychotherapist say recently that for every experience of
conditional love from significant others take 50 points; for unconditional
love add 100 points; for conditional hate (I don’t love you when you’re
bad etc.) take off 200 points; and for unconditional hate (you’re evil/
terrible/wasting space on the planet etc.) take off… wait for it: 1000
points!
I’d find a well-put-together counselor and talk through it all: you may just
find that there’s a healthy (I like the word ‘salugenic’) form of
Christianity that’s modeled on Jesus rather than his faltering followers
(see the article ‘Was Jesus a Christian? I Doubt it!’) on our homepage…
Don’t ever, ever, ever give up (as Winston Churchill put it in his second
most famous speech!)
