From a netfriend:
In Aceh, Christians are also trashing Muslim villages – it’s just that our media conveniently fails to report this. And there are some absolutely charming things happening in South America where supposed Christians are trashing other Christians. But because it doesn’t involve ‘us’, our media doesn’t report it. In Northern Ireland, both sides are purportedly Christian and the media would have us believe that it’s a religious war, when the issues just happen to divide reasonably neatly down sectarian lines – most of one side are Catholic and most of the other are Protestant. And in Australia, mosques are firebombed and graffitied and Muslim women going about their normal business are vilified because they are doing it while dressed in a way that they believe respects God.
