Following on from Noel’s suggestion, “Deep wounds, deep healing” is published by Sovereign World, 1993, ISBN 185240 148 6. It is available at Word, Koorong and Keswick SU bookshops to our knowledge.

The Prayer Ministries Network of which Beth Tephillah Ministry Centre is a part, arranged a series of Deep Healing seminars in 2001 with Dr Kraft. The manual, video and audio tapes of this series are available from us. The ministry recorded on these videos is very real and encouraging. But Chuck Kraft would also encourage many to be willing to become involved in it, and not hold back out of fear. He says you can easily become addicted to the smiles on the faces of those who are healed. He will be at Morling College again this year.

Over half of those coming for prayer at the PMN centres have suffered abuse, many at the hands of trusted authority figures. It is a privilege to see the Lord Jesus bring wholeness to such wounded people. And yes, it does take time. Minimising its effects is incredibly wounding. So is turning away from the one in need.

For those interested in finding out more about spiritual abuse, David Johnson and Jeff Van Vonderen’s “The subtle power of spiritual abuse” Bethany House, 1991. ISBN 1 55661 160 9. is a good place to start. John L Sandford “Why some Christians commit adultery”, Victory House, 1989. ISBN 0 902081 22 3. is excellent for both spiritual abuse and the reason for sexual sin within the church.

The fact that we, as many denominations, have introduced protocols to avoid cover-ups is a very encouraging sign. We appreciated your sharing your guidelines Rowland. Good to know the PMN centres are on the side of wisdom in their ethical standards.
