Mormons may disavow black inferiority view – report
The Mormon church is considering a proposal to repudiate historic church
doctrines that were used to bolster claims that black people were
inferior, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday. The move comes 20 years
after the church, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, dropped its ban against African Americans in the
priesthood. The paper quoted sources close to the secret deliberations
as saying they hoped a statement would be issued next month, the 20th
anniversary of the church’s decision to admit “all worthy men” to the
priesthood regardless of their race or color.–

>This was supposedly a revelation from God to their prophets …. It is in
their scripture (Book of Abraham) also. If they do this they put
themselves in a bind ….. either the prophets back then were wrong and
therefore were false prophets or their current prophets are wrong and
therefore false prophets ….. they can’t have it both ways ….God has never been politically expedient like this ….
