A young man was trying to explain the mysteries of horse racing to a young woman. He said, “If you back a horse for five pounds at five to one, you win twenty five pounds. If you back it at ten to one, you get fifty pounds. And if you back it at twenty to one, you get one hundred pounds.” She answered politely, “And what happens if I back it at exactly one o’clock?”
