Perhaps you should hear this from someone
other than the moderator.
The moderator is not the boss of the group.
He is the servant of the group.
It was a decision of us, the group members,
that we wanted to limit cross posting. We,
the group members, did not want content based
restrictions. That is, we did not want posts
to be censored. We only wanted to limit cross
posting.
This decision was reached by a process of
discussion and a vote.
We also found one poor sucker to do the hard
work of implementing our wishes. Andrew has
that job. Any power he has is simply power
to do what he is told. He cannot censor
because that is not the job he has been given.
He does a great job, and stands out as one of
the really likeable and unflappable people on
the group. Witness how mildly he responded to
the accusations of censorship. I reckon we did
well to let Andrew take on this task. So while
I am at it-thanks very much, Andrew.
