INTRODUCTION

Many of us work in two businesses - our day-to-day secular work, and the Lord's business. I believe that he is calling us to integrate the two, and to apply the same standards of honesty, integrity, grace, and love, to each. Furthermore, as we respond to this challenge, and make such a commitment, he goes with us, advises us on points needing wisdom, warns on areas requiring caution, and contributes to prosperity. My experience is that this commitment is facilitated by a conversational prayer walk with Our Lord, who is our Chief Executive.

This set of prayers reflects my own walk with God in business. Each prayer has been stimulated by a real event, and by real people. They also reflect my conversational style of prayer and I have tried to express on paper some deep thoughts from my soul.

In a number of the prayers, I have sensed a response from Our Lord, and have tried to put this to words. This is very personal, and I have used the words "My son" as the call to me. If you as a reader feel that these also come to you, then you should, rather, must, rewrite these as "My daughter," "My child," "My friend," "My people," or whatever is appropriate to your situation. Then you will be able to share more deeply in the blessing that I have had putting these prayers onto paper.

The various sections are set out consistent with the system of business indicators developed by Pharmaceuticals Division, ICI Australia, in the early 1990s - Customers, People, Community, Growth, and Finance. A sixth section, Personal, has been added.
