I have a contract with my employer, It sets out our agreements to each other, And has significant legal weight. It tends to sit in the bottom drawer until our ways part, And then becomes important to define matters like notice, termination and redundancy. We both signed it, and dated it. I have a contract with you, Lord. You sealed it with your blood, [1] And it is good for eternity. I don't deserve a place in your kingdom, Lord, But you redeemed me, and forgave me. It is special to celebrate this contract With your bread and cup - at your table. Without my work contract, I don't have a job. Without my contract with you, Lord, I don't have life. And I thank you Lord. Again and again. [2] 1.. 1 Corinthians 11 v 25. 2.. 1 Chronicles 16 v 34. Copyright Howard Smith 2002. All Rights reserved. For comments or responses, please contact
