I have had four bosses in the last 15 years. Each had their strengths, and I guess weaknesses, Because we are all human. There are many things for which I thank them. Room to move, opportunities for initiative, Shared experiences, wise words, Encouragement, yes, and rebuke! Sometimes, I didn't agree with them, Gradually, I learned to trust a management decision. Time has taught me that it may not be possible For me to know all the facts contributing to a decision. Each has now gone on to other things, But left a mark on my personality and experience. Just now, Lord, as I reflect on these things, I lift my soul to you in worship. For you are the ultimate boss, the Alpha and the Omega, [1] The one who will never leave and move on. The all wise, the encourager, The one whose decisions I can always trust. Yes Lord, and sometimes you need to rebuke me. And I must lay my performance before you With a confession of gaps and deficits. Still, you coach, and train, And lead on, and seem to use me. Why Lord? "My son, remember my commitment to you. I have chosen you before the creation of the world. [2] I have several tasks for you in my kingdom. In time, I will show you and empower you, But just now, I am training you. Stand firm, and know my love for you." 1. Revelation 22 v 13. 2. Ephesians 1 v 4. Copyright Howard Smith 2002. All Rights reserved. For comments or responses, please contact
