Office roles and designations have evolved
enormously over recent times.
From typist to secretary, to personal assistant
and office manager.
Many changes have contributed to this,
Especially information technology (IT) and keyboard skills.
However, it would be very hard to replace my personal assistant.
She holds me to the ground, corrects my grammar,
and seems to know my mind,
Keeping the home base efficient and functional,
Especially when I’m away travelling.
You’re away at the moment, Lord,
And you’ve engaged me as your personal assistant
To act and write on your behalf,
To set up appointments and attend to enquiries.
It’s a privilege, Lord, but I doubt that I’m worthy.
The parable required the lamps to be full of oil. [1]
May my printer cartridge be full of ink,
PC switched on, telephone working in your service.
Most of all, show me your mind
So that I can respond ably on your behalf
As your personal assistant,
Ready for your return.
