My friend is going to retire. He has done a good job, He has been very faithful; Now it's time. And I feel for him, Lord. He's not very prepared, and wonders what he'll do. Let's be honest, time will pass us all by. Not just technology, but energy levels and health. Retirement should be a golden period of life With time, family, friends, and a more gentle life-style. My turn will also come - to pass on the baton, Perhaps I will be in good health, perhaps I won't. That's in your hands, Lord, But I sense that I won't be here unless you have something for me to do for you. Prepare me now, Lord, for this later phase of life, With balance and sustained contribution, Always part of your plan. [1] 1. Proverbs 16 v 3. Copyright Howard Smith 2002. All Rights reserved.
