I’ve just opened my E-mail. Nothing for me just now,

But over the last week I’ve had messages from people

from several countries.

It’s quick, and cheap, and for my needs, secure.

I can send messages to many people simultaneously

if there is a need.

How did we manage without all this IT stuff in the past?

Prayer must be a bit like E-mail.

Incredibly personalised, immediate and low cost.

In fact all the costs are borne by the provider,

That’s you Lord.

“My son, I want you to use prayer like a ‘chat page’.

It needs to be frequent and two-way.

You also need to keep working at listening to me. [1]

It’s OK to put words to the thoughts I give you,

But test them to be sure that they are mine. [2]

“From time to time, I want you to share this skill with others.

It can be learned – just as I am teaching you now.”

Lord, I thank you for being my eternal IT systems designer,

provider, manager, and service agent.
