Today, I went to a planning meeting, Lord.

We evaluated where we are at,

And tried to forecast the future.

It all took a lot of time

As we tried to pick our way through a maze of options.

Some we will get right, but mistakes are inevitable.

Our track record shows that well!

For us Lord, it’s all about coping with the unknown,

But we seem to focus on our own needs -

Profit, pursuit of career, business growth.

I seem to have some conflicts here, Lord:-

Responsibility to my employer,

Stewardship of your gifts to me,

Looking after self and family,

But what about your kingdom?

How do I get it all right?

“My son, you need to remember two things.

First, I am outside time and know the future in detail.

Second, you must not underestimate

how much I love and care for you.1

I am ready to intervene when you ask me,

and when I sense a need.

In the mean time, commit everything to me.

Do your best prayerfully,

And trust me to fill the gap.”
