We need to manage risk.

Fire, theft, accidents, loss, and many others.

They can hurt our people and erode our bottom line.

We have comprehensive insurance cover for these,

But accidents are preventable,

And risk can be minimised.

It's all about training, process, safety, and awareness.

Thank you, Lord, that I work for a business

that has high standards in these areas.

Commitment is required at all levels.

Then there's business risk.

Investments that may not materialise,

Products that don't perform,

Litigation, and on, and on.

Containment requires managerial wisdom

based on data and experience.

I've done some things for you,

which at the time seemed risky, Lord.

On reflection though, all risk is relative,

And doesn't exist at all if the future is fully known.

Like you do!

If I trust your guidance completely, there can be no risk. [1]

And even risk of physical or verbal abuse on your behalf

is trivial relative to the eternal blessing you promise. [2]

I must not be frivolous about risk, Lord,

Teach me to trust your eternal purposes and plans.
