We need lawyers sometimes.

To draft agreements, contracts, and patents,

To manage litigation, inter-company disputes,

Assist with Regulatory Submissions to Government,

Trade practice, legislation, and on and on.

Some of these things are fun, others not very pleasant.

We live in a litigious society.

Thank you for their careful work.

Your kingdom is all about freeing us from the law.

Because you brought grace and truth. [1]

And two pivotal commandments -

"Love the Lord your God" and "your neighbour as yourself". [2]

But I have to work in the secular world, Lord,

And still be your servant.

Help me to act with grace and truth

And thereby minimise the conflict.

I am going to need your help with this one, Lord.
