I was bored today at the office today,

With sameness, monologue, repetition,

and the futility of irrelevant human endeavour.

What was my real problem? Inactivity?

You are the same yesterday, today, tomorrow,

But you are not boring, and certainly not inactive.

I think the real problem is that

“I see through a glass, darkly.” [1]

When the glass clears a little,

and I see you more clearly,

at work, at home, or out and around,

You exhilarate me, and nothing is boring.

Dare I ask you to take the scales off my eyes? [2]

Am I really bold enough to reach out

and seek your face?

I can not expect to be inactive,

For you are the antithesis of boredom.
