It is an awesome task to comment on the book of Revelation, and I sense that it is not my role here other than very briefly and superficially. Together with the book of Daniel, this must be the purest example of hearing God’s voice – and perhaps a one-off! Other people even today may speak with a word of prophecy but not with the completeness of vision that was given to John. Nevertheless, it speaks of the day when “He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them” (Revelation 21: 3). This is the sure hope that must drive us and bring us close to God in conversational prayer.
