This whole newsgroup (aus.religion) started because of a long rambling thread in aus.jokes. Somebody told a joke about Aboriginal deaths in custody and it was on for young and old. In the end we had to make a whole new newsgroup to contain it.

In my experience _any_ thread with lawrence in it tends to be two or thre standard deviations past the mean when it comes to "long and rambling". It's one of the things that endears him to others.
